I have been interested in science since I was a teenager, and I received several awards in the Aer Lingus Young Scientists Exhibition (a popular national science competition for schoolchildren in Ireland) for my research into chloroplast migration in the Caulerpa floridana marine algae. Specifically, I received the Irish Professors of Botany Award in 1994 & 1995; the Institute of Biology Ireland Award in 1995 & 1996; and 1st prize in the Biological and Ecological Sciences Senior Individual category in 1995 & 1996.

I also was interested in mathematics (and competed in the Irish Mathematical Olympiad), and an avid computer programmer – in 1996, I came 4th in the Under-18 category of the IBM DCU All Ireland Schools Programming Competition, and I was awarded the Prof. Rykov Trophy for computer programming in 1994.

So, naturally, I studied science in college. I specialised in Chemistry, and I received the Bristol Myers Squibb Award for the best final year project (in the Measurement/Calculation section). But, at this stage I had become impressed by the great “polymaths” and realised that I wanted to be a multi-disciplinary scientist. So, when I was offered the chance to do a Ph.D. which combined chemistry, biophysics, polymer physics and computer modelling, I took it. My thesis was “Conformations of branched polymers”, for which I was awarded the BOC Gases Award for best Ph.D. research.

After my Ph.D., I began working with my father, Michael, on a number of topics. We have been researching and developing:

  • New technologies and techniques for fish-farming, aquaponics and waste-water treatment
  • Low cost heat-exchangers
  • New energy efficient building materials and techniques

We have investigated the life cycles and spawning conditions for hundreds of species of fish, invertebrates and algae.

We began actively researching climate change in early 2009.

Along the way, I built several houses and buildings with Michael, and learnt a lot about different construction techniques.

Finally, I love music, and I am interested in history, archaeology and anthropology.

Academic qualifications
B.Sc., M.Sc., H.D.E., D.E.E., Ph.D.

I have lectured and tutored at third level in the fields of physics, chemistry, electronic engineering, computer science, mathematics and statistics.

Trade qualifications
I qualified as a plasterer in 1969 and as an electrician in 1970. I have done all of the building trades. In 1975, I built our first house entirely on my own. Since then, I have designed and built hundreds of buildings and houses.

Research interests

In 1989, together with Imelda, I built, operated and owned the National Aquarium which at the time was the top privately-own tourist attraction in Ireland.

Since 1996, we have been carrying out fundamental research in the fields of physics, chemistry and biology, both in Ireland and in USA. I have been granted patents in aquaculture, wastewater treatment and heat exchangers. I have since relinquished my patent rights for these technologies to make them freely available to the public.

Our son, Ronan, joined us in this research full-time in 2004. Our other son (Stephen) and daughters (Orla and Leona) have also worked with us on this research from time-to-time.

We have also been designing new eco-friendly buildings and materials.

  2. The GreenHouse Effect Anti-Theory

By reflecting away 30% of the incoming solar energy the atmosphere/albedo makes the earth cooler than it would be without the atmosphere much like that reflective panel behind a car’s windshield.
    Greenhouse theory has it wrong.

The non-radiative processes of a contiguous participating media, i.e. atmospheric molecules, render ideal black body LWIR from the surface impossible. The 396 W/m^2 upwelling from the surface is a “what if” theoretical calculation without physical reality. (refer to: TFK_bams09)
    Greenhouse theory has it wrong.

Without the 396 W/m^2 upwelling there is no 333 W/m^2 GHG energy up/down/”back” loop to “warm” the earth. (refer to: TFK_bams09)
    Greenhouse theory has it wrong.

Man caused climate change is negated by these three points. Hysterical speculations over sea levels, ice caps, glaciers, extreme weather, etc. are irrelevant noise.

Zero greenhouse effect, Zero CO2 global warming and Zero man caused climate change.

One popular geoengineering strategy proposed for countering imaginary global warming/climate change is through reducing net solar heating by increasing the earth’s albedo.

This increase is accomplished by various physical methods, e.g. injecting reflective aerosols into the atmosphere, spraying water vapor into the air to enhance marine cloud brightening, spreading shiny glass spheres around the poles with the goal of more reflection thereby reducing the net amount of solar energy absorbed by the atmosphere and surface and cooling the earth.

More albedo and the earth cools.

Less albedo and the earth warms.

No atmosphere means no water vapor or clouds, ice, snow, vegetation, oceans and near zero albedo and much like the moon the earth bakes in that 394 K, 121 C, 250 F solar wind.

These geoengineering plans rely on the atmosphere cooling the earth thereby exposing the error of greenhouse theory which says the atmosphere warms the earth and with no atmosphere the earth becomes a -430 F frozen ball of ice.

Zero greenhouse effect, Zero CO2 global warming and Zero man caused climate change.

    Space – the Hotter Frontier

One of the heated issues underlying greenhouse theory is whether space is hot or cold.

Greenhouse theory says that without an atmosphere the earth would be exposed to a near zero outer space and become a frozen ice ball at -430 F, 17 K.

Geoengineering techniques that increase the albedo, the ISS’s ammonia refrigerant air conditioners, an air conditioner in the manned maneuvering unit, space suits including thermal underwear with chilled water tubing, UCLA Diviner lunar data and Kramm’s models (Univ of AK) all provide substantial evidence that outer space is relatively hot.

But outer space is neither hot nor cold.

By definition and application temperature is a relative measurement of the molecular kinetic energy in a substance, i.e. solid, liquid, gas. No molecules (vacuum), no temperature. No kinetic energy (absolute zero), no temperature. In the void & vacuum of outer space the terms temperature, hot, cold are meaningless, like dividing by zero, undefined. Same reason there is no sound in space – no molecules.

However, any substance capable of molecular kinetic energy (ISS, space walker, satellite, moon, earth) placed in the path of the spherical expanding solar photon gas at the earth’s average orbital distance will be heated per the S-B equation to an equilibrium temperature of: 1,368 W/m^2 = 394 K, 121 C, 250 F.

Like a blanket held up between a camper and campfire the atmosphere reduces the amount of solar energy heating the terrestrial system and cools the earth compared to no atmosphere.

This intuitively obvious as well as calculated and measured scientific reality refutes the greenhouse theory.

Zero greenhouse effect, Zero CO2 global warming and Zero man caused climate change.

Since the earth is actually hotter without an atmosphere, radiative greenhouse effect goes straight into the historical trash bin of failed theories and all the handwavium, pseudo-science, thermodynamic nonsense pretending to explain it follows close behind.

If my anti-theorem is incorrect why so and how so, bring science.
If my anti-theorem is correct contemplate the consequences.

    1. I’d be intereted to know your thoughts on what I wa taught in schools about the greenhouse effect in School over 50 years ago.

      1. the sun warms the atmosphere and the earth.
      2. heat is radiated from the earth back towards space
      3. The atmosphere reflects the heat back towards earth
      4. The accumulated effect keeps the atmosphere warmer than it would otherwise be (hense the use of the term “greenhouse”).
      5. The greenhouse effect is necessary for life. Without it we would freeze to death.

    1. hahahaha awwww whats wrong?
Did the big bad scientists make you cry with their correct science. 🙁 you poor dear, you wont be cashing in for much longer.
Right now I am playing violins for you because you are a real charmer. I would ask if you kiss your mother with that mouth but we both know you don’t have one considering you were spawned from a petri dish from sludge

  3. Your research needs to get more exposure. For real! I am sick and tired of the “Global warming” scheme, which is just a way to corner the energy market, raise taxes, destroy the western middle class, leave developing countries in a state of underdevelopment and finally, virtual signaling with incredible arrogance from the usual Hollywood stars and now even a 16 years old dysfunctional child…

    1. It’s wholesale derangement .
      Climate/Science and Biology and Democracy.
Everything is forced through, installed, taxes set, no chance of questioning it, the Science is settled. End of discussion.
Men can be women overnight and join women only swimming clubs.
Children can say they want a sex change at three years old.
A mind set is being installed, its called derangement.

    2. So since were in the realm of science, how is research contrary to that listed on this sight “corner”the energy market? Who has the motivation to raise taxes I guess everywhere and destroy the middle class? How did these people who will benefit get people from all over the world to collude to come up with a hoax and plot to raise taxes? Just thinking critcally here?

      1. Power and money, and the hopes by the UN of being the ONE world government. Create panic and indoctrinate the children, be patient and let the chickens come home to roost. The bottom line is that the climate alarmists are all about money and power.

  4. Just watching Roland and Michael on Irish interview. Lovely to hear data, scientific discussion and common sense. Hope truth wins out soon before irretrievable damage done in more countries.

  5. Dear Ronan, Imelda and Michael.
You are amazing, i have been following you via Lord Monckton. I am so happy to see scientists that are committed to science even if it does not suit the consensus, just amazing.
I really do hope these people are faced with the full extent of the law, they have been scaring children for 40 years. I remember when i was 8 years old and they spun us the “hole in the ozone layer” being the child I was, I didn’t believe it as I could not understand how gasses heat etc from space could get in but astonishingly the heat could not get out, it made no sense I questioned it and its what lead me on a life long climate/weather fascination

Michael and Ronan Connolly you are a Credit to Science!
    Best of Luck.
